3D Basecamp Hong Kong 2024

3D Basecamp Hong Kong is a half day event on 13 Sep 2024 organized by Trimble SketchUp and Condata. It showcases a lot of innovative applications from the SketchUp product line. Mission of the company: to connect the digital and physical worlds.
Unlike other BIM products, Sketchup is traditionally more focus on the rapid geometry creation, now, is extending to more context of the physical object representation and solving the real world problems. E.g. using AI to classify room and space inventory and automatically identify objects such as windows, doors, walls, slabs, etc in the model, which enables a lot of BIM applications.
Applications such as 6D (Operations) and 7D BIM (Sustainability analysis).
It was mentioned an alternative to Boston Dynamics in Mainland which can carry the Trimble sensors for reality capture.

A guru from Taiwan, Titan, introduce his journey in BIM.
BIM1.0 - around 2010
BIM2.0 - around 2019, add collaboration tool, openBIM movement
BIM3.0 - now, add 7D to 10D BIM, IoT, Digitral Twin, AI
A new tool called Diffusion will generate different styles that can be applied to the model base on user prompt.
A new tool called OpenAI Explorer can execute command base on user prompt. E.g. put a flower vase at the center on top of every table, then Ruby script will be generated and executed.
Model is also increasely used for manufacturing.
A new tool for SketchUp for Air can be used to generate inspiring models by AIGC. Following is an example using this.
Chaos also showcases the works by designers. Following is the photo realistic works done with V-Ray.
This Shenzhen company 天宫开物 develops series of products base on SketchUp, meeting the industrials workflow requirements of drawing generation at a reasonable cost.
